Family Counseling Services

  • Services include individual, marriage, and family counseling and a number of special programs addressing such concerns as youth alcohol and drug abuse, children’s adjustment to divorce, anger management. Agency staff include social workers, professional counselors, marriage and family therapists, and certified addiction counselors.
  • They offer a reduced or “sliding” fee scale for clients without insurance benefits.

Athens Housing Authority

  • The Athens Housing Authority (AHA) offers an affordable housing option for low- income families through its public housing program.  The AHA cannot provide emergency housing, nor does the AHA administer the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher program.

Child Support Services

  • If you live in Georgia, have legal custody of a child, and need help receiving child support payments, you may apply for services.
  • Anyone who receives help from the Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) program or receives certain Medicaid benefits can get help from Child Support Services without having to apply.
  • All others must complete an application form and pay a fee of $25.
